Just returned from an incredible experience at the Y Combinator retreat!
Came away with lots of learnings, new friends and excitement to get building.

It was an amazing 3 days getting to know and being inspired by the group partners and the network of brilliant founders who’re all on similar journeys.

Here are some of my biggest takeaways:

1)
Be obsessed with your users: Always focus on understanding and bringing value to your users. In medicine, putting patients first is something that most doctors strive to live by, and applying that same attitude in building products is key to make a real impact.

2)
Cofounder relationships: Invest in building strong bonds and a practice of open communication when times are good to weather bad ones. And there will be bad ones.

3)
Surround yourself with people that push you to be better: We all hear of success stories and big breaks, not about the hardship it takes to get there. Succeeding when going against the grain takes real grit and smarts. Surround yourself with exceptional, good-hearted people that will inspire you to see your plans through. It was also a huge pleasure getting to share about preventative medicine and longevity.

It was a great experience sharing my knowledge and discussing the fascinating initiatives people are exploring to live beyond 100.

Truly grateful that we got to experience this as a founding team Teeming, Joel & Kenneth. Loking forward to building
Mito Health (YC S24) together in the years ahead! 🚀

120 & beyond,
Dr Ryan Ware
