Mito now carries supplements. The catalog holds practitioner-grade products from brands such as Thorne, Pure Encapsulations, Metagenics, Designs for Health, Nordic Naturals, Seed and Integrative Therapeutics, and every order is fulfilled by Fullscript, the dispensary practitioners use. Anyone can browse the catalog. Sign in with any Mito account to see member prices. Members buy at a member price of up to 35% off retail.
Why we added supplements
Your lab results show where you stand. Your action plan turns them into steps across supplements, exercise, nutrition and sleep. Until now, Mito stopped one step short of the supplement part: your results and your plan lived in your Mito dashboard, but buying what the plan suggested meant searching elsewhere and comparing brands on your own.
Adding supplements closes that gap. The place where you understand your results is now the place where you can act on them, from brands chosen for quality, at member prices.
What’s in the catalog
Mito’s supplement catalog is a focused set of brands chosen for quality, research and product transparency. The catalog looks for:
- ingredients and doses that have been studied in scientific literature;
- manufacturing aligned with industry standards such as cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practice);
- detailed labelling and ingredient sourcing information;
- brands that licensed practitioners trust and dispense.
These are the products you would usually find through a licensed practitioner rather than on a retail shelf. Every order is fulfilled by Fullscript, the dispensary practitioners use.
You can browse the full catalog by brand, or by need: sleep and focus, gut health, heart and metabolism, immunity and inflammation, hormone health, bone, joint and performance, skin, hair and nails, vitamins and minerals, omegas and fatty acids, antioxidants and cellular health, women’s health and men’s health.
For example, magnesium comes in several forms. Thorne and Pure Encapsulations both make magnesium bisglycinate (also called glycinate), the form our magnesium supplement guide compares with citrate, threonate and others.
Who can browse and who can buy
- Browse: anyone can see the full catalog and every product page, with no account needed.
- See member prices: sign in with any Mito account, free or paid, to see the member price on each product.
- Buy: buying supplements needs an active Mito membership, which is $9/month. If you are not a member yet, you can add a membership at checkout.
Supplements are the one part of the Mito marketplace where buying needs a membership. You can still order lab tests and scans without one, at the non-member price.
Member prices
Members pay a member price of up to 35% off retail. Each product page shows its exact member price once you sign in with any Mito account.
Supplements are a one-time purchase, with no subscription. They are not HSA or FSA eligible, so checkout takes a regular card. Lab tests ordered through Mito are still HSA and FSA eligible. Our guide to whether vitamins and supplements are HSA or FSA eligible explains the IRS rule behind that.
Supplements in your action plan
Members get supplement suggestions in their action plan, shaped by their lab results and goals. A supplement is one step among several in that plan, next to exercise, nutrition and sleep, not the whole plan.
When a supplement suggestion matches a product in the Mito catalog, the suggestion shows that product, and you can add it to your cart from your action plan. You do not have to search for the right form or brand yourself.
Lab results can also show when you might not need something. A vitamin D or ferritin result, for example, shows where your level stands today, and a later retest shows whether it has changed.
More is not always better
The goal is a more informed routine, not a longer one. A supplement can help fill a gap that your results or diet point to, but it is not a substitute for food, sleep or movement, and supplements do not treat or prevent any condition. Some vitamins and minerals also compete with each other or with medicines, which our guide to supplements that shouldn’t be taken together covers.
Talk to your clinician before starting or changing what you take, especially if you take prescription medicines or are pregnant.
