Dirt Cheap Labs has closed

Dirt Cheap Labs shut down in August 2026, a little under two months after launching. Their site is still up with a notice explaining what happens next.

If you have an unused order form, it is still valid. Take it to the collection site as planned.

If your results are still processing, they will go to your Quest or Labcorp patient portal rather than to Dirt Cheap Labs.

If you want your data removed, their site has an option to delete everything from your account. Save your order form and reports to your own device first, because once deleted the links stop working.

On the way out, they pointed people to three services that work the same way, and Mito Health was one of them. This page is here because a lot of people arrived looking for that.

Quick Summary

Dirt Cheap Labs was one of the few direct-to-consumer lab services whose per-test prices genuinely rivalled Mito Health. It closed in August 2026.

Across the 25 common tests below, their final published prices against ours, Mito member pricing was lower on 22 of 25, and on a handful they matched or edged us. The practical difference was the order minimum. Dirt Cheap required an $80 minimum order, so a single low-cost test was not an option. Mito has no minimum and lets you order one marker at a time.

If you are replacing them, that minimum is the thing worth knowing about. It meant the cheapest possible order came to $90 once the $10 draw fee was included. On Mito the cheapest possible order is one test plus one draw fee.

What Was Dirt Cheap Labs?

Dirt Cheap Labs was a discount direct-to-consumer lab testing service built around very low per-test prices. You ordered online, gave your sample at a partner collection site, and viewed results in your account. Orders were subject to an $80 minimum, so it suited people building a larger panel rather than buying a single test.

It launched in June 2026 and closed that August.

What to do if you have an unused Dirt Cheap Labs order form

Use it. Their notice says existing order forms remain valid. Take it to the collection site as planned. There is no reason to pay for those tests twice.

Save your records before deleting anything. If you use their account-deletion option, download your order form and reports to your own device first. Once removed, the links stop working.

For your next panel, you do not need to rebuild your order from scratch. If you are not sure which markers to run, the 60-second health quiz builds a custom panel from your goals, symptoms, and risk factors. If you already know what you want, you can search the tests directly and add them one at a time. There is no minimum, so if you only want three markers this time, you can order three markers.

You can also upload past lab reports to your Mito dashboard, including results from Dirt Cheap Labs, so your history stays in one place and gets used as context when new results come in.

What Dirt Cheap Labs Did Well

Dirt Cheap earned its name. Its per-test prices were among the lowest available anywhere, and it beat our non-member pricing on a lot of markers. It charged one flat $10 draw fee and did not stack extras on top of it. For a price-focused person assembling a big panel in one go, it was a serious option, and we said so while they were operating.

They also wound down carefully, keeping order forms valid, routing pending results to the labs’ own patient portals, and giving people a way to delete their data rather than sitting on it. That is not a given in this category.

Who Should Choose Mito Health?

  • You want to order a single test or a small set, with no minimum order
  • You are re-checking a few markers rather than running a full baseline
  • You want pricing listed up front and a 1:1 consultation to interpret results
  • You are building a panel and want one draw fee spread across several markers
  • You want your lab history in one place, including results from elsewhere

Membership is optional. You can order any Mito test without joining, and non-member pricing is listed on every test. If you plan to order several markers or want ongoing support, the $9/month membership unlocks lab pricing at our cost, trend tracking, clinician support, and the full dashboard experience, including a personal Action Plan, recommendations, and AI health coaching. It is month-to-month, and you can cancel anytime.

FAQs

  • Is Dirt Cheap Labs still operating? No. Dirt Cheap Labs closed in August 2026, roughly two months after launching. Their site is still up with a notice about order forms, pending results, and data deletion.
  • Is my Dirt Cheap Labs order form still valid? Yes. Their closure notice says existing order forms remain good, and results the lab completes now go to your Quest or Labcorp patient portal instead of to Dirt Cheap Labs.
  • What happens to my Dirt Cheap Labs results and data? Results already issued stay accessible through the lab’s own patient portal. Their site also offers an option to delete your reports, order forms, and personal details from their system. Download anything you want to keep first, because deletion removes their copies.
  • What is the closest alternative to Dirt Cheap Labs? Dirt Cheap Labs pointed to three services that work the same way: pick your own tests, pay once, and walk into a lab for the draw. Mito Health was one of them. The main practical difference is that Mito has no order minimum, so you can order a single marker instead of building to an $80 floor.
