Pre-test considerations

What this test is for
This panel pairs tissue transglutaminase (tTG) IgA, the primary screening antibody for celiac disease, with deamidated gliadin peptide (DGP) IgG, which catches cases the IgA test can miss. tTG IgA is highly sensitive and the standard first-line marker, but it gives false negatives in people with IgA deficiency, which is more common in celiac patients; DGP IgG covers that gap and is also useful in young children. Elevated antibodies point to gluten-sensitive enteropathy, including celiac disease and the skin form, dermatitis herpetiformis, and are commonly checked when investigating chronic diarrhea, bloating, weight loss, iron-deficiency anemia, fatigue, or an itchy blistering rash.
Results are only valid while you are still eating gluten, since a gluten-free diet lowers these antibodies and can mask the disease. A positive result is confirmed with an intestinal biopsy, so this panel is the screening step, not the final diagnosis.

Membership is $9 per month, and any applicable lab order or draw fee is itemized before you pay.
Where do I get tested?
Choose an available partner lab at checkout. If your cart contains multiple blood tests, Mito helps consolidate the eligible tests at one lab when possible. At-home kits and scans follow the collection or appointment process shown on their product page.
Is this eligible for HSA/FSA?

When will I get my results?
