What this test is for
Tissue transglutaminase (tTG) antibodies are produced when gluten triggers an immune reaction in people with celiac disease, damaging the lining of the small intestine. This panel measures both the IgA and IgG classes: tTG-IgA is the main screening marker for celiac disease and dermatitis herpetiformis, while tTG-IgG adds value in people who are IgA-deficient, where the IgA test can read falsely negative. High levels point toward gluten-sensitive enteropathy and prompt confirmation, usually with endoscopic biopsy. It is commonly checked when investigating chronic diarrhea, bloating, weight loss, iron-deficiency anemia, fatigue, or an itchy blistering rash, and to screen relatives of someone with celiac disease.
Pairing both classes is useful because it covers the roughly 2 to 3 percent of celiac patients who are IgA-deficient, a group a single IgA test alone can miss.

It is never a profit on the test itself. Mito makes its money on the $9 membership, not on marking up your tests. Membership is $9 per month, and any applicable lab order or draw fee is itemized before you pay.
Where do I get tested?
Choose an available partner lab at checkout. If your cart contains multiple blood tests, Mito helps consolidate the eligible tests at one lab when possible. At-home kits and scans follow the collection or appointment process shown on their product page.
Is this eligible for HSA/FSA?
Yes. Eligible tests can be paid for with an HSA or FSA card at checkout.
When will I get my results?
