What this test is for
This panel measures two antibodies the immune system makes against thyroid tissue: thyroid peroxidase (TPO) antibodies and thyroglobulin (Tg) antibodies. Elevated levels point to autoimmune thyroid disease, most commonly Hashimoto's thyroiditis (the leading cause of hypothyroidism) and also Graves' disease. It is most useful for explaining an abnormal or borderline TSH, or symptoms like fatigue, weight change, cold intolerance, hair loss, dry skin, and mood changes, by showing whether autoimmunity is driving the picture. TPO antibodies are the more sensitive and frequently positive marker; adding thyroglobulin antibodies catches a small additional group, which is why both are run together here. Antibodies can be present before thyroid function is clearly abnormal, so a positive result is read alongside TSH and free T4.

Where do I get tested?
Choose an available partner lab at checkout. If your cart contains multiple blood tests, Mito helps consolidate the eligible tests at one lab when possible. At-home kits and scans follow the collection or appointment process shown on their product page.
Is this eligible for HSA/FSA?

When will I get my results?
