Thyroglobulin is a protein made only by the thyroid gland, which makes it a useful marker for tracking well-differentiated thyroid cancer after the thyroid has been removed or ablated: a rising level can signal residual or recurrent disease. This panel pairs it with thyroglobulin antibodies, which matter for two reasons. The antibodies are present in most people with autoimmune thyroid disease such as Hashimoto's, and they also interfere with the thyroglobulin assay, typically pushing the thyroglobulin result inappropriately low, so the two are measured together to interpret thyroglobulin correctly. Thyroglobulin is a monitoring tool, not a diagnostic test for thyroid cancer or thyroid function.

Where do I get tested?
Choose an available partner lab at checkout. If your cart contains multiple blood tests, Mito helps consolidate the eligible tests at one lab when possible. At-home kits and scans follow the collection or appointment process shown on their product page.
Is this eligible for HSA/FSA?

When will I get my results?
