Rheumatoid Arthritis Diagnostic Panel
Two antibody markers that together pin down rheumatoid arthritis when joint pain and swelling have no clear cause.
Consider this test if:
- Persistent joint pain, morning stiffness, or symmetric swelling in the hands, wrists, or feet
- Investigating fatigue and joint symptoms that suggest an inflammatory rather than mechanical cause
- A family history of rheumatoid arthritis or other autoimmune disease alongside new joint symptoms
- Confirming or ruling out RA after an abnormal inflammatory marker or an unclear earlier result
- HSA/FSA eligible
- Results delivered to your dashboard · Reviewed by a real clinician
- Drawn at a CLIA/CAP-accredited lab near you ·
Pre-test considerations
No fasting required, and timing during the day does not matter. Results reflect antibody levels, not recent meals or activity.

What this test is for
This panel pairs rheumatoid factor (RF) with anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide (anti-CCP IgG), the two antibodies used to evaluate rheumatoid arthritis. RF is sensitive but not specific, since it also rises in other autoimmune conditions and chronic infections; anti-CCP is far more specific to RA and often appears years before symptoms or RF turns positive. When both are positive, the case for RA is strong, and anti-CCP positivity is linked to more aggressive, erosive joint disease. It is most useful when investigating persistent joint pain, morning stiffness, and symmetric swelling in the hands, wrists, or feet. If you want only the single most specific marker, the standalone anti-CCP test is the sharper one; this panel runs both for a fuller diagnostic read.

Rheumatoid factor is an antibody that mistakenly attacks other antibodies, flagging the kind of immune misfire seen in rheumatoid arthritis and related autoimmune conditions. Elevated levels support investigation of joint pain, swelling, and stiffness, especially the symmetrical, morning-heavy pattern that distinguishes autoimmune arthritis from mechanical wear and tear. It's usually read alongside anti-CCP antibodies and inflammatory markers like CRP or ESR, since RF alone can turn up in healthy people or with other conditions and isn't definitive by itself.

Frequently asked questions
View all FAQsHow does pricing work?
Every test shows the member price next to the standard non-member price, so you can see what membership saves you. The member price is our cost — covering the lab and what it takes to run the service — never a profit on the test itself; Mito makes its money on the $9 membership, not on marking up your tests. Membership is $9/mo, and you still pay the lab’s order fee. Prices are itemized before you pay, with no hidden fees.
Where do I get tested?
Choose a partner lab (Quest, Labcorp, or BioReference) at checkout. If your cart spans multiple tests, we consolidate the whole order onto a single lab so you only make one visit.
Is this eligible for HSA/FSA?
Yes. This test is HSA/FSA eligible, and you can pay with your HSA/FSA card at checkout.
When will I get my results?
Your results post to your dashboard once your lab completes them, then a clinician reviews them and your full analysis and personalized action plan (with clear next steps) follow. Turnaround varies by test: specialty assays and at-home kits take longer, and each test shows its expected turnaround before you buy.
Do I need a doctor’s order?
No. Mito provides the lab order for you, so you can book and get tested without a separate doctor visit.
