What this test is for
Myeloperoxidase (MPO) antibody is an autoantibody directed against an enzyme inside neutrophils, and it is one of the two main targets behind a positive p-ANCA result. Elevated MPO antibodies are strongly linked to ANCA-associated vasculitis, including microscopic polyangiitis, eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis (Churg-Strauss), and idiopathic or vasculitis-associated crescentic glomerulonephritis, where small blood vessels in the kidneys, lungs, sinuses, and nerves become inflamed. It is typically checked when symptoms point toward vasculitis: unexplained kidney dysfunction or blood in the urine, coughing up blood, sinus or nasal disease, nerve symptoms, fatigue, fever, and weight loss. MPO antibody is usually ordered alongside PR3 antibody and a p-ANCA/c-ANCA immunofluorescence pattern, since the combination sharpens the diagnosis. A positive result supports a vasculitis diagnosis but is interpreted with biopsy, kidney function, and the clinical picture rather than standing alone.

Where do I get tested?
Choose an available partner lab at checkout. If your cart contains multiple blood tests, Mito helps consolidate the eligible tests at one lab when possible. At-home kits and scans follow the collection or appointment process shown on their product page.
Is this eligible for HSA/FSA?

When will I get my results?
