For early-pregnancy questions, a single value is hard to interpret alone, so a repeat draw about 48 hours later is often needed to assess the rate of change. Recent hCG-containing fertility medications can affect the result, so note timing and dose.

What this test is for
Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) is the hormone produced by the placenta shortly after a fertilized egg implants, and the quantitative test reports its exact concentration rather than a simple positive or negative. It confirms pregnancy earlier and more precisely than a urine test, and serial measurements show whether levels are rising normally, which is why it is used to date early pregnancy and to evaluate concerns like ectopic pregnancy or miscarriage when levels rise too slowly or fall. Outside of pregnancy, hCG is also used to detect and monitor gestational trophoblastic disease, including follow-up after a molar pregnancy. Because a single value means little on its own in early pregnancy, hCG is often drawn twice about 48 hours apart so the rate of change can be assessed.

Where do I get tested?
Choose an available partner lab at checkout. If your cart contains multiple blood tests, Mito helps consolidate the eligible tests at one lab when possible. At-home kits and scans follow the collection or appointment process shown on their product page.
Is this eligible for HSA/FSA?

When will I get my results?
