Hemoglobin A1c with reflex to Glycomark
Your three-month average blood sugar, the standard marker for diagnosing and tracking diabetes and prediabetes.
Consider this test if:
- Family history of diabetes or a personal history of prediabetes
- Tracking blood sugar response to diet, weight loss, exercise, or medication
- Symptoms like increased thirst, frequent urination, fatigue, or slow-healing wounds
- Establishing a metabolic baseline as part of routine preventive screening
- Managing existing diabetes and confirming control every three to six months
- HSA/FSA eligible
- Typical results in 1-2 days · Reviewed by a real clinician
- Drawn at a CLIA/CAP-accredited lab near you ·
Reflex testing
If your A1c comes back outside the standard range, a GlycoMark (1,5-anhydroglucitol) test runs automatically to capture recent glucose spikes that a long-term average can miss. This is done at no additional cost.
Pre-test considerations
No fasting is required, since A1c reflects long-term average glucose rather than a single reading. It can be drawn at any time of day. Results are less reliable if you have anemia, a recent transfusion, significant blood loss, or a known hemoglobin variant, so mention these when reviewing your result.

What this test is for
Hemoglobin A1c reflects the percentage of hemoglobin coated in glucose, which tracks your average blood sugar over roughly the previous three months. It is the main marker for diagnosing prediabetes and diabetes and for monitoring how well glucose is controlled over time, and this version also reports an estimated average glucose (eAG) to translate the percentage into familiar mg/dL and mmol/L numbers. Rising A1c is linked to insulin resistance, weight gain, fatigue, excessive thirst, and long-term risks to the eyes, kidneys, nerves, and cardiovascular system. A1c can be distorted by conditions that change red-blood-cell lifespan, such as anemia, recent blood loss, or certain hemoglobin variants, so an unexpected result is worth confirming with a fasting glucose or fructosamine.

Frequently asked questions
View all FAQsHow does pricing work?
Every test shows the member price next to the standard non-member price, so you can see what membership saves you. The member price is our cost — covering the lab and what it takes to run the service — never a profit on the test itself; Mito makes its money on the $9 membership, not on marking up your tests. Membership is $9/mo, and you still pay the lab’s order fee. Prices are itemized before you pay, with no hidden fees.
Where do I get tested?
Choose a partner lab (Quest, Labcorp, or BioReference) at checkout. If your cart spans multiple tests, we consolidate the whole order onto a single lab so you only make one visit.
Is this eligible for HSA/FSA?
Yes. This test is HSA/FSA eligible, and you can pay with your HSA/FSA card at checkout.
When will I get my results?
Your results post to your dashboard once your lab completes them, then a clinician reviews them and your full analysis and personalized action plan (with clear next steps) follow. Turnaround varies by test: specialty assays and at-home kits take longer, and each test shows its expected turnaround before you buy.
Do I need a doctor’s order?
No. Mito provides the lab order for you, so you can book and get tested without a separate doctor visit.
