Pre-test considerations
Use a first-morning urine sample when possible, since hCG is most concentrated then and gives the most reliable early result. No fasting is needed. Deliver the sample promptly and avoid contamination with blood, which can cause rejection. Testing too early, before hCG has risen, can produce a false negative, so repeat in a few days if pregnancy is still suspected.

This qualitative test reports a simple positive or negative rather than a numeric level, making it the standard first step for confirming a suspected pregnancy after a missed period. A positive result confirms hCG is present; a negative result early on can occur if testing happens before levels are high enough, so retesting a few days later helps. When the clinical question involves dating, ectopic pregnancy, threatened miscarriage, or abnormal hCG production from trophoblastic or testicular tumors, a quantitative blood hCG is the more sensitive and informative test.

Where do I get tested?
Choose an available partner lab at checkout. If your cart contains multiple blood tests, Mito helps consolidate the eligible tests at one lab when possible. At-home kits and scans follow the collection or appointment process shown on their product page.
Is this eligible for HSA/FSA?

When will I get my results?
