Pre-test considerations
No fasting required and timing does not matter. Antihistamines and other allergy medications do not affect blood IgE results, so there is no need to stop them. Results are interpreted against your symptom and exposure history, so note which foods caused reactions and when.

What this test is for
This panel covers the major food allergens responsible for the majority of food-allergic reactions: egg white, milk, wheat, peanut, soy, sesame, the common tree nuts (almond, hazelnut, walnut, cashew), fish (cod, tuna, salmon), and shellfish (shrimp, scallop). It measures IgE antibodies to each food, the antibody class that drives immediate allergic reactions such as hives, swelling, vomiting, wheezing, and anaphylaxis. A positive result means sensitization, not a confirmed allergy: a true allergy requires symptoms that track with eating the food, so each result is read against your reaction history. It is most useful when reactions point to food but the specific trigger is unclear, or to check several suspected foods at once before an oral challenge or elimination plan.

Every test shows the member price next to the standard non-member price, so you can see what membership saves you. The member price is our cost, covering the lab and what it takes to run the service. It is never a profit on the test itself. Mito makes its money on the $9 membership, not on marking up your tests. Membership is $9 per month, and any applicable lab order or draw fee is itemized before you pay.
Where do I get tested?
Choose an available partner lab at checkout. If your cart contains multiple blood tests, Mito helps consolidate the eligible tests at one lab when possible. At-home kits and scans follow the collection or appointment process shown on their product page.
Is this eligible for HSA/FSA?

When will I get my results?
