Pre-test considerations

No fasting required. A urine sample is collected at the lab, typically 40 mL (10 mL minimum). Detection windows vary by substance and recent use, so timing relative to last exposure affects whether something is found. Note any prescription or over-the-counter medications before collection, since several legitimate drugs are detected by design. Excessive fluid intake before the test can dilute the sample and is flagged by the creatinine and specific-gravity checks.

What this test is for

This is a urine drug panel covering eight categories: alcohol metabolites (ethyl glucuronide and ethyl sulfate), amphetamines and methamphetamine, benzodiazepines, cocaine (as benzoylecgonine), opiates, oxycodone, buprenorphine, and THC. It works in two steps: a fast immunoassay screen, and then any presumptive positive is reflexed to liquid chromatography mass spectrometry, which identifies the specific compound and metabolites with far greater accuracy. That confirmation step matters because immunoassay screens produce false positives, so a confirmed result is what distinguishes an actual exposure from a cross-reaction. Specific gravity, pH, creatinine, and oxidant checks are included to flag a diluted or adulterated sample. The panel reports positive or negative against fixed cutoffs; the quantitative values do not indicate dose, since these drugs are heavily metabolized before they reach urine.

    How does pricing work?

    Every test shows the member price next to the standard non-member price, so you can see what membership saves you. The member price is our cost — covering the lab and what it takes to run the service — never a profit on the test itself; Mito makes its money on the $9 membership, not on marking up your tests. Membership is $9/mo, and you still pay the lab’s order fee. Prices are itemized before you pay, with no hidden fees.

    Where do I get tested?

    Choose a partner lab (Quest, Labcorp, or BioReference) at checkout. If your cart spans multiple tests, we consolidate the whole order onto a single lab so you only make one visit.

    Is this eligible for HSA/FSA?

    Yes. This test is HSA/FSA eligible, and you can pay with your HSA/FSA card at checkout.

    When will I get my results?

    Your results post to your dashboard once your lab completes them, then a clinician reviews them and your full analysis and personalized action plan (with clear next steps) follow.
