Cyclic Citrullinated Peptide (CCP) Antibody (IgG)
The most specific antibody for rheumatoid arthritis, paired with rheumatoid factor for early diagnosis.
Consider this test if:
- Persistent joint pain, swelling, or stiffness, especially in the hands and wrists
- Morning stiffness lasting more than 30 to 60 minutes
- Investigating symmetric joint symptoms when an inflammatory cause is suspected
- A family history of rheumatoid arthritis with early or unexplained joint symptoms
- Clarifying whether joint symptoms are rheumatoid arthritis rather than another inflammatory condition
- HSA/FSA eligible

What this test is for
Anti-CCP IgG is an antibody directed against citrullinated proteins, and it is the single most specific blood marker for rheumatoid arthritis. About 70% of people with RA test positive, while only around 2% of healthy people and people with other conditions do, which makes it far better than rheumatoid factor at distinguishing RA from look-alikes such as hepatitis C, lupus, and other inflammatory conditions. This test reports both anti-CCP IgG and rheumatoid factor, two of the antibodies in the formal RA classification criteria, so a positive result on both substantially raises the likelihood of RA. Anti-CCP often turns positive years before joint damage appears, which is why it is valuable when symptoms are new or ambiguous. A separate IgG/IgA combined CCP test exists for cases where the standard IgG result is negative but suspicion remains; for most people the IgG form measured here is the right first test.

Frequently asked questions
View all FAQsHow does pricing work?
Every test shows the member price next to the standard non-member price, so you can see what membership saves you. The member price is our cost — covering the lab and what it takes to run the service — never a profit on the test itself; Mito makes its money on the $9 membership, not on marking up your tests. Membership is $9/mo, and you still pay the lab’s order fee. Prices are itemized before you pay, with no hidden fees.
Where do I get tested?
Choose a partner lab (Quest, Labcorp, or BioReference) at checkout. If your cart spans multiple tests, we consolidate the whole order onto a single lab so you only make one visit.
Is this eligible for HSA/FSA?
Yes. This test is HSA/FSA eligible, and you can pay with your HSA/FSA card at checkout.
When will I get my results?
Your results post to your dashboard once your lab completes them, then a clinician reviews them and your full analysis and personalized action plan (with clear next steps) follow. Turnaround varies by test: specialty assays and at-home kits take longer, and each test shows its expected turnaround before you buy.
Do I need a doctor’s order?
No. Mito provides the lab order for you, so you can book and get tested without a separate doctor visit.
