What We Test

A comprehensive hormone and metabolic panel designed specifically for women in perimenopause.

FSH & LH

Follicle-stimulating hormone and luteinising hormone — key indicators of where you are in your perimenopausal transition.

Estradiol & Progesterone

Tracking your estrogen and progesterone levels to understand hormonal fluctuations driving your symptoms.

Thyroid Panel

Full thyroid function (TSH, free T3, free T4) — thyroid disorders mimic perimenopause symptoms and are common in women over 40.

DHEA-S & Testosterone

Adrenal and androgen hormones that affect energy, libido, muscle mass, and mood during perimenopause.

Metabolic Panel

Fasting glucose, insulin, HbA1c, and lipids — because metabolic risk shifts significantly during the menopausal transition.

Bone Density (DEXA)

Estrogen decline accelerates bone loss. A baseline DEXA scan helps track and prevent osteoporosis early.

Vitamin D & B12

Critical micronutrients that are commonly deficient in perimenopausal women and affect energy, mood, and bone health.

Cardiovascular Markers

ApoB, hs-CRP, and lipid subfractions — because cardiovascular risk rises sharply after menopause.

Backed by Evidence

Our screening protocol is informed by the latest research on women's health during the menopausal transition.

Cardiovascular risk accelerates during the menopausal transition

The SWAN Study, JAMA Cardiology

Women experience rapid increases in cardiovascular risk factors during perimenopause, making early screening critical for prevention.

Bone loss begins before menopause

Journal of Bone and Mineral Research

Significant bone density loss begins 1-2 years before the final menstrual period, supporting early DEXA screening in perimenopause.

Thyroid dysfunction is common in perimenopause

Thyroid Research

Up to 26% of perimenopausal women have undiagnosed thyroid dysfunction, with symptoms that overlap significantly with menopause.

Common Questions

How do I know if I'm in perimenopause?

Perimenopause typically begins in your early-to-mid 40s, though it can start earlier. Common signs include irregular periods, hot flashes, sleep disruption, mood changes, and brain fog. Our hormone panel can help confirm where you are in the transition.

Will this help me decide about HRT?

Yes. Our screening provides the baseline hormone and metabolic data that helps you and your doctor make informed decisions about hormone replacement therapy — including whether it's appropriate, what type, and what to monitor.

My GP says my hormones are 'normal.' Why should I test again?

Standard GP hormone tests often check a limited panel and use reference ranges that don't account for perimenopausal fluctuations. Our panel is more comprehensive and interpreted in the context of your symptoms and stage of transition.

When in my cycle should I get tested?

We'll advise you on optimal timing based on your cycle. For most perimenopausal women, we recommend testing on days 2-5 of your cycle if you're still menstruating.

Do I need a GP referral?

No referral needed. You can book directly online.
